What has changed in the new EBSCO Interface?

Answer

The new EBSCO database interface doesn't just look pretty, it also has a lot of great new features and functions! Here are some the changes you will see:

  • MyEBSCO Accounts
    • Student and Faculty can now sign in to a MyEBSCO account using their FCC login.
    • This does not change how students access EBSCO databases. MyEBSCO simply allows users to save article records from both the new FCC Library OneSearch system and all EBSCO databases.
    • The sign in to my EBSCO can be found at the top right of the screen in all EBSCO databases.
  • Simpler Linking for EBSCO Articles
    • You can now copy the link to any article in an EBSCO database directly from your browser’s address bar. There’s no longer a need to find the “permalink” option.
    • Note: This change applies only to EBSCO databases. Other databases still require permalinks or document URLs.
  • Updated ESBCO Database URLs
    • To enable the MyEBSCO sign-in, we did have to update the EBSCO database URLs.
    • Old EBSCO links will still work for accessing articles and databases. You do not need to change them.
    • However, if someone uses an old link and tries to sign in to MyEBSCO, they will see an error. This does NOT affect their ability to access content—only their ability to save it to their MyEBSCO account
    • See our Do I need to Update my EBSCO Links FAQ on what you might need to do with EBSCO links in your Blackboard Course.
