How do I download an ebook from OneSearch and EBSCO?

I would like to download an ebook from the EBSCO Academic Ebook Collection to read offline.

Answer

All EBSCO Ebooks can be read directly online in the database, no download needed.

Many of the ebooks are also DRM Free which means they can be downloaded with few limitations.

Some of the ebooks are more restricted. To download those ebooks to read offline, you will need to take the following steps:

1. Sign into MyEBSCO if you haven't done so already. You can click on the MyEBSCO icon on the upper right-hand side of the screen using your FCC credentials. It will say "Hello, Researcher!" instead of your name if you are not signed in.

2. Download Adobe Digital Editions. This software is free, but required to download copies of books that are not DRM-Free. After you download it, you may be asked to authorize your computer with an Adobe ID and password. Instead, click "Authorize this computer without an Adobe ID." Open the book you have downloaded and it should appear in the Adobe Digital Editions App  under "Borrowed." You will see how much time you have left on your digital loan on the cover of the book.

3. Some books can only be downloaded/viewed by one or two people at a time. If your download is denied or you are not able to access the book online it is likely the number of downloads/viewers for that title has been reached and you should check back later.
