Q. How do I cite a source such as a book, article, or website?

Answer

Determine what citation format your professor wants you to use. Professors will generally make that information clear in the class syllabus, in the description of an assignment, or through some other announcement. Different academic disciplines use different citation formats, so it is important to know which one you are going to use.

Please refer to FCC's College Writing Guide: Citing Sources for citation guidance and resources.

Students may also visit the Tutoring and Writing Center located in the Bess and Frank Gladhill Learning Commons on the second floor of Linganore Hall.
